Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will pay an official visit to Croatia on Wednesday when he is due to hold talks with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic and President Zoran Milanovic.
Sanchez is the first Spanish head of government to visit Croatia.
He will arrive in Zagreb from Ljubljana where he is expected to attend the EU-Western Balkan summit meeting, according to sources from both the Spanish and the Croatian government.
The visiting Spanish premier and his hosts in Zagreb will discuss the bilateral relations and Croatia’s aspirations to join the Schengen Area and the euro area as well as the developments in the Western Balkans.
Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman visited Madrid in May and on that occasion he described the bilateral relations as very friendly.
