In October a total of HRK 236.9 billion (€31.6 billion) was issued in loans which is HRK 7.7 billion or 34% more than in October 2020, according to the latest data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB), indicating a strong growth in total deposits in that period of more than HRK 36 billion.
Compared to September, the value of loans increased by HRK 1.3 billion or 0.6%, HNB said on Tuesday. Household loans amounted to HRK 141.7 billion, which is HRK 5.6 billion or 4.1% more than in October 2020 and 0.4% of HRK 0.6 billion more than in September 2021. Non-purpose loans amounted to HRK 53.4 billion, which is HRK 0.5 billion or 1% more than in October 2020 or HRK 0.2 billion (+0.4%) higher than in September.
At the same time, corporate loans amounted to HRK 84.4 billion or 0.1 billion (-0.1%) lower year-on-year, however, by HRK 0.5 billion (+0.6%) higher than in September. Loans to other financial institutions amounted to HRK 10.9 billion which is HRK 2.2 billion or 25% more on the year and HRK 0.2 billion or 1.7% more month-on-month.
Total deposits increase HRK 36.3 bn y-o-y
At the same time, total deposits in credit institutions amounted to HRK 361.7 billion, up as much as HRK 36.3 billion or 11.1% more y-o-y. Household deposits totalled HRK 242.2 billion, up HRK 1.9 billion or 0.8 % from September and up HRK 20.7 billion or 9.4% from October 2020, HNB reported.
