Value of fiscalised receipts issued last week up 30 pct y-o-y

The value of fiscalised receipts issued last week increased by 30 percent compared with the corresponding week in 2020, but was 9 percent lower than at the same time in 2019, according to data released by the Tax Authority on Monday.

In the week from 26 April to 2 May 2021, the total value of fiscalised receipts issued reached 3.1 billion kuna, increasing by 726 million kuna or 30 percent compared with the same week in 2020 when much tighter coronavirus restrictions were in place.

A total of 36.8 million fiscalised receipts were issued in the last week of April 2021, up by 61 percent on the corresponding period in 2020.

The number of fiscalised receipts issued in the retail and wholesale sector increased by 42 percent to 23.9 million and their value rose by 17 percent to 2.3 billion kuna.

Even stronger growth was recorded in the hospitality and tourism sector, with the number of fiscalised receipts increasing by 571 percent and their value by 450 percent. In the accommodation provision and food service sector, 3.6 million fiscalised receipts were issued in the week from 26 April to 2 May and their value amounted to 195.8 million kuna.

Compared with the period from 26 April to 2 May 2019, the number of fiscalised receipts decreased by 4 percent and their value by 2 percent, while in the hospitality and tourism sector, the number of receipts plunged by 51 percent and their value by 57 percent.

Compared with the previous week, i.e. the week from 19 to 25 April 2021, the number of fiscalised receipts fell by 5 percent and their value by 3 percent. In the retail and wholesale sector, the number of receipts dropped by 5 percent and their value by 4 percent, while in the hospitality and tourism sector, the number of receipts decreased by 2 percent and their value increased by 12 percent.
