The average monthly net salary in January was 6,189 kuna (€832), the state statistics bureau said on Tuesday.
Month-on-month, the figure was 3.6 up in nominal and 3.8 percent in real terms. Compared to January 2017, the average net monthly salary rose by 5 percent in nominal terms and by 3.9 percent in real terms.
The median net salary for January 2018 was 5,114 (€687), which means that half of all employed people earn less than that.
By sector, the highest average salary was in air transport (11,077 kuna) while the lowest was in leather goods manufacture (4,001 kuna).
The Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) commented on the report and said they expected a slightly slower rise in net salaries this year.
