Former Economy Minister Goranko Fižulić appeared in N1’s morning show Novi Dan to discuss the latest developments in the restructuring of Agrokor.
He talked about the rumours of suppliers’ abandoning the negotiations about the debt agreement. Some of Agrokor’s suppliers, represented by CEO of Kraš confectionery, Marica Vidaković, and Chamber of Agriculture official, Mato Brlošić, have criticised the negotiations so far.
“Agrokor has 5,700 creditors, and a large portion of them are suppliers of goods and services. Large suppliers are represented by Marica Vidaković, and small ones by Brlošić. The small ones have been paid out in full, so it’s now all about (getting a deal with) Marica Vidaković. There is no communication channel with (all) 5,700 suppliers so we can’t tell what they want,” Fižulić said.
Fižulić also touched upon Sberbank’s return to the negotiations.
“Sberbank was originally kicked out by (former crisis manager) Ramljak because they launched court proceedings against Agrokor. The good news for Croatia is that, with their return, we no longer have to worry about potential lawsuits. The bad news is that there will be less money for all suppliers. As much as Agrokor seems huge to us, for Sberbank and the bod holders it is small. We don’t know what deal was reached between the bond holders and Sberbank, which is more important than whatever (current crisis manager) Peruško agreed with Sberbank. The key issue is the way Agrokor will be ultimately broken up and sold, and this is what the bond holders and Sberbank discussed,” Fižulić added.
