Croatian PM: Croatia's departure from Belgrade appropriate

The Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic, commented on the return of the Croatia’s delegation from Belgrade.

“It is the appropriate response to this kind of provocation,” Plenkovic said, adding that he was not happy because the incident happened “during a well-prepared meeting”.

Plenkovic also commented on the fact that the Serbian Ambassador to Croatia, Mira Nikolic, rejected the diplomatic note sent by the Croatian Foreign Ministry in protest of Seselj’s actions.

“I think the note is appropriate given the character of Seselj’s incident,” Plenkovic said, adding that the sole responsibility for the incident is on Vojislav Seselj and his followers, and that the Serbian colleagues did not agree with it.

“I expect Serbia to condemn the incident and, after the dialogue has been re-established, we will decide what to do next,” Plenkovic said and added that Serbia should have accepted the diplomatic note.
