The supervisory board of the Pula shipbuilding company Uljanik Group has re-elected Gianni Rossanda as the chairman of the Uljanik Group’s management board. Denis Rabar, former chairman of the Uljanik Shipyard management board, was also elected as member of the board.
The term of the incumbent board, consisting of the chairman, Gianni Rossanda, and members Veljko Grbac and Marinko Brgić, will expire on Friday, April 27, and the new board’s five-year term will begin the next day.
According to the supervisory board, the new management board’s main goal will be the creation of the restructuring programme for the Uljanik Shipyard, and to maintain the total shipbuilding activity in the Uljanik Group.
“These are the main reasons we named Denis Rabar as a member of the Uljanik Group’s management board, whose years long experience in managing the production processes in the Uljanik Shipyard makes him undeniably competent for the function of the Uljanik Group’s management board member, and his work will add to the continuity of the previous management board’s work, chaired by Gianni Rossanda,” the press release from Uljanik Group said.
The naming of the new management board followed the election of the Kermas Energy, an international investment corporation, as the strategic partner to enter into the Uljanik’s ownership structure and to carry out the restructuring of the Uljanik Shipyard.
The sustainable restructuring programme must be created as soon as possible, in accordance with the European Commission’s State Guidelines for rescuing and restructuring non-financial undertakings in difficulty, as well as the government’s January decision to provide the 96 million state guarantee for the Uljanik Shipyard to help its restructuring.
The European Commission has set a six-month deadline on January 22 for the creation of the restructuring programme.
