The Croatian Red Cross (HCK), the largest humanitarian organisation in the country, is celebrating 140 years of existence this year.
HCK will organise various activities throughout the country beginning on Saturday, May 5 in downtown Zagreb.
The celebration is sponsored by the President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the Parliament, the government, and the City of Zagreb, said HCK in a press release on Thursday.
A parade through downtown Zagreb is planned for Saturday, when HCK will be joined by the Armed Forces. After a short programme the parade will continue to the Zrinjevac park in Zagreb city centre, where concerts, games, and other activities will be organised for the public.
“A collection will be organised, with the proceeds going to the HCK self-service store, whose beneficiaries are increasing daily,” the press release said.
