The first Courtyard by Marriott will be opened in summer 2019 in the highest building in Croatia – The Dalmatia Tower in Split, said the project investors, the Westgate Tower d.o.o, on Friday.
The Marriott International brand is a leading global lodging company with over 6,500 properties in more than 127 countries around the world.
“Croatia is globally recognised not just as a tourist destination, but as a country attractive to investors. This project, worth 600 million kuna (€81 million) represents development, innovation, (and) the raising of tourism to a new level,” said the Tourism Minister, Gari Capelli.
The Westgate Tower Split project, when finished, will have two towers. The higher of the two, at 115 meters, will be the highest building in the country and because of that, an excellent tourist attraction, the investors said.
The Courtyard by Marriott will be located on the higher floors of the tower, enabling the guests to enjoy spectacular views of the city, and, considering the building’s specific shape, each of the 190 rooms and four apartments will have views of the sea. Considering its market orientation towards the business community, the hotel will be equipped with conference facilities as well as a wellness, a gym, a restaurant, and a bar.
