Bauk: The Prime Minister is ever weaker

The Social Democratic Party’s Arsen Bauk commented on the recent opinion poll results according to which 21 percent of Croatian citizens think it would be best if the Prime Minister would not resign after the discovery of the “Hotmail Affair.”

“According to Zeno’s paradox, 79 percent of the population want Andrej Plenkovic to resign as Prime Minister,” Bauk said visiting the Croatian Radio and Television (HRT).

“Had the poll been conducted a year ago, the result would have been much better for Plenkovic, but if new email’s surface, the results could get much worse,” Bauk stressed.

Bauk added that Plenkovic did not react to the affair on time and therefore, he will be in an even weaker position. Every new e-mail makes his position more difficult.

Bauk believes new emails will continue to surface.

Speaking about Milorad Pupovac, a Croatian politician of ethnic Serb descent and the Leader of the Independent Democratic Serb Party in Croatia, Bauk said that when it comes to ideological matters Pupovac can easily find a common language with the SDP, but when it comes to financial matters he easily partners up with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
