The Independent Association of Women of Sevce has been set up as the first women’s social company in Kosovo, the Beta news agency reported on Friday.
The company was formed in the Serb-populated village of Sevce by the Strpce municipality, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and UNDP and has provided 40 women with jobs processing fruit, aromatic herbs and tea.
The project is worth 31,000 Euros and was financed by the ADA office in Kosovo and implemented by the UNDP.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the UNDP, Austrian embassy and Strpce municipal authorities.
