Dance performance of Macbeth at Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Dubrovačke ljetne igre

A dance performance of Macbeth, based on William Shakespeare’s play, will be presented on Thursday, July 26, at 21.30 on the Revelin Fort terrace in Dubrovnik as part of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Produced by the Bitef Dance Company and Tivat Culture Centre, Macbeth presents new streams of dance theatre to the audience, where the darkness of Shakespeare’s Scottish play is only the starting point for choreographer Milos Isailovic’s exploration of conspiracy, passion, crime, and madness, into which he brings the perspective of contemporary world.

The Company was founded in Serbia in 2009. It aims to present great literary works to wider audiences through contemporary dance theatre, and had previously staged such classics as Shakespeare’s Othello, Dante’s Divine Comedy, Moliere’s Don Juan, and Artistophanes’ Birds, the last of which was performed at last year’s Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Tickets for the dance performance of The Scottish Play are available online, or at the Festival register (1 Od Sigurate) every day from 9.00 to 21.00.
