Amid rumors that the popular Serbian musician Momcilo Bajagic Bajaga will not be performing at the Days of Beer in the Croatian city of Karlovac because of Croatian war veterans were opposing his concert, a Croatian band that was to replace him announced they were not performing either.

“We may come over for a beer but we will not perform because we do not want to be anybody’s replacement,” the Hladno Pivo (Cold Beer) band wrote on its Facebook page.

“Dear people of Karlovac, see you at some other occasion. Cheers!” the band said, adding a link to Bajaga’s song “This is the Balkans,” and marking its location as North Korea.

The leader of the band, Mile Kekin, has angered the right-wing extremists in Croatia before when he published a song called “I’m not one of you, my folks won in ‘45.”
