Fodor’s Travel, one of world’s leading publishers of travel and tourism guidebooks, included Croatian national parks on their must-visit list for 2019, national tourism board (HTZ) reported on Wednesday.
The latest Fodor’s Go List features a total of 52 destinations.
“Including Croatian national parks into the Fodor’s Go List is an just another confirmation of the country’s exceptional nature wealth, recognised all over the world,” HTZ head Kristjan Stanicic said.
“Our preserved and untouched nature attracts droves of tourists, and I am certain that Croatia, after the publication of this list, will confirm its place on the world tourist map, especially among travellers who enjoy touring unique nature sites,” Stanicic said.
The eight Croatian national parks (Plitvice Lakes, Paklenica, Kornati, Krka, Risnjak, North Velebit, Mljet and Brijuni) are lesser-known than beaches lining the Adriatic, the publication said, adding they were nonetheless “a photographer’s dream.”
