Croatia's airports recorded a total of 10.2 million passengers in the first eleven months of 2018, which is 10.3 percent up from the same period in 2017, the state statistics bureau said in a recent report.
In November alone, some 320,000 passengers were recorded travelling through Croatia’s nine airports, up by 5.3 percent year-on-year. The busiest airport in November was Zagreb Airport, with 232,000 passengers (up by 4.4 percent year-on-year), followed by Split Airport with 53,000 (up by 41.8 percent).
Third placed was Dubrovnik Airport, with 26,500 passengers in November, or 22 percent down from the same month in 2017.
In terms of the nationality of foreign air travellers in November, by far the largest group were Germans, with 96,000 visitors. They were followed by the French (17,000), Austrians (16,000), Turks (15,000), and Britons (14,800).
Cargo traffic also increased, with 11.3 million tonnes of cargo handled over the first eleven months of 2018, or 25.5 percent up year-on-year. In November alone, slightly over a million tonnes was recorded, inching up 0.7 percent from November 2017.
