The national tourist board said the announcements came in a specialised health tourism fair Les Thermalies held in Paris earlier this month which the board's delegation attended to promote Croatia and as a spa tourism destination.

Another low-cost airline, EasyJet, announced a direct Nantes-Dubrovnik route. In addition, the French flag carrier Air France announced adding more direct flights connecting Paris and Dubrovnik, as well as a new route from France's capital to Split.

In 2018 some 592,000 French tourists visited Croatia, who recorded about 2.2 million bed nights, which the board said was 8 percent up from 2017.
