Gatherings in support of the 1 in 5 Million civic protests were held in Vienna and Prague on Saturday in parallel to the main gathering in central Belgrade.

Protest organizers tweeted that people gathered in those two cities in a show of support for the people of Serbia’s fight against tyranny, lies and dictatorship and called Serbians abroad to join in the protests. The gathering organizers in Prague demanded the right to vote at free and fair elections at all of Serbia’s diplomatic missions across the world.

The crowd of tens of thousands of protesters in Belgrade carried banners saying Freedom is Won At Free Elections, The Constitution is Not a Rag, We Are With The People Not Previous and Current Thieves, 1244 Reasons Why Kosovo is Serbia and a banner saying Association of Free Councillors an organization formed by 700 members of local councils across Serbia.

Organizers rerouted the protest march, heading towards Kalemegdan fortress first before walking into the Terazije tunnel where protesters put up stickers with what they said are all of President Aleksandar Vucic’s lies and heading on past the national parliament and state TV (RTS) building.

Protest gathering were held in other places on Saturday as well.

The protests began after an assault on Serbian Left party leader Borko Stefanovic on November 30, 2018 under the slogan Stop to Bloody Shirts and have been organized every Saturday since December 8 with an increasing list of demands including free media and free and fair elections.

The protesters started using the slogan 1 in 5 Million after President Vucic said he would not bow to protests even if five million people appeared on the streets.

Protests are being held across Serbia on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in different places. They have the support of a number of Belgrade university professors, artists, lawyers and unions.

The 34 Opposition parties and movements which support the protests have come up with an Agreement With the People which can be signed at the protests.
