Unemployment rate in Croatia drops to 9.5 percent at the end of March 2019

Unemployment rate in Croatia dropped from 10.2 percent in February to 9.5 percent at the end of March 2019, with more than 8,600 newly-employed in that period, the state statistics bureau reported on Tuesday.

There were 1.38 million employed people in Croatia at the end of March, the figures showed, which is an increase of 0.6 percent on the month.

Most of the employed worked in legal entities.

According to the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), there were nearly 146,000 job-seekers at the end of March, a decrease of 6.8% percent compared to the previous month and an 18.1 percent drop compared to March 2018.
