German retail chains are the most desirable employers in Croatia, while Rimac Automobili is the most desirable among domestic companies, according to the findings of a survey conducted by the MojPosao job-seeking portal.

The survey was conducted in 2018 and this year, covering nearly 20,000 respondents. It shows that dm-drogeriemarkt is the most desirable employer in Croatia for the tenth year running, followed by Lidl Croatia, Mueller Zagreb, and Rimac Automobili.

The findings show that two Croatian companies, Atlantic Group and Valamar Group, have become more desirable to workers, rising in the rankings in comparison with last year. Atlantic ranked as the fifth most desirable employer in the country, while Valamar was seventh.

According to 31% of respondents, harmonious relations in the workplace are crucial for making an employer attractive, while 30% cited job security. An employer’s social responsibility is the third most desirable factor, while the chance to rise in company ranks was mentioned as the least important one.

Comparing men and women, the survey show that women’s preferences correspond to the overall findings, while men cited Rimac Automobili as the second most desirable employer. The men’s top ten includes the INA oil company, Croatian Telecom and A1 Croatia.
