At the end of May there were 116,466 unemployed persons registered with the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), down by 11.2% than in April and by 17.9% as against at the end of May 2018.
HZZ data released on Monday indicates that at the end of May there were 14,624 fewer people registered as unemployed than at the end of April and 25,430 fewer than at the end of May last year.
My is the fourth consecutive month recording a drop in unemployment figures on the month which can be attributed to usual seasonal employment trends on the Croatian market due to the tourism season.
In May, 21,474 jobless persons, or 18.4% of the total number, received unemployment benefits, down 11.1% or 2,714 fewer year on year.
