In May 2019, Croatia was among the EU member states with the largest monthly retail trade decreases, Eurostat reported on Thursday.
In May 2019, Croatia’s seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade decreased on the month by 4.4% after dropping by 0.9% in April.
The largest decreases in retail trade volume were registered in Greece (-3.8%) and Germany (-1.0%).
In May 2019 compared with April, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade decreased by (-0.4%) in the EU while in April it dropped by 1.0%.
In May 2019 compared with May 2018, the calendar adjusted retail sales index increased by 1.3% in the EU28.
In May 2019, Croatia’s calendar adjusted volume of retail trade decreased by 1.4% after increasing by 5.3% in April year on year.
The highest yearly increases in the total retail trade volume were registered in Luxembourg, (+7.4%), Ireland (+7%), and Slovenia (+5.8%).
