U.S. Ambassador William Robert Kohorst on Tuesday visited Karlovac County and the local hospital in the city of Karlovac after the U.S. embassy decided to help in the construction of a heliport beside the hospital.

The U.S grant for the construction of heliports beside the “KB Dubrava” hospital in Zagreb, and the hospitals in Slavonski Brod, Osijek, and Karlovac stands at USD 450,000. Now it is up to the U.S. embassy to select builders.

During the U.S. Ambassador’s visit to the Karlovac hospital, the director Ervin Jancic spoke about the project.

Kohorst also met a group of 16 U.S. medical undergraduates who are currently in Karlovac under the shadowing scheme.

The diplomat toured the local plant of the General Electric Croatia company and after meeting with local authorities he said he believed that Karlovac and Karlovac Country had good opportunities to attract U.S. investments.
