Tourist arrivals up by 5%, overnight stays by 2% in first eight months of 2019

From 1 January to 31 August this year, a total of 16.5 million tourist arrivals were registered in Croatia, which is 5% more than in the corresponding period of 2018, according to the statistics collected by the Croatian eVisitor and eCrew systems, which register visitor arrivals and departures.

The number of overnight stays increased by 2% to 90.1 million in the the first eight months.

Foreign visitors accounted for 14.7 million arrivals (5% increase) and their overnight stays rose by 1%.

Arrivals by domestic tourists increased 10% and overnight stays were up 7%.

In August alone, eVisitor and eCrew systems registered five million arrivals, which was 8% more than in August 2018, and overnight stays increased 3% to 33.1 million.
