On the margins of the UN General Assembly session in New York, Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlic Radman attended meetings of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) and the Central European Initiative (CEI) and held a series of bilateral meetings, his ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The SEECP ministerial meeting, organised by Kosovo as the initiative’s chair, focused on priorities in Southeast Europe, including connectivity, energy and transport infrastructure, opportunities for young people to stay in their countries, and tourism promotion.

The CEI meeting, chaired by Italy, discussed EU enlargement. Grlic Radman reiterated that Croatia strongly supported opening accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania.

Also on Thursday, Grlic Radman met with the foreign ministers of Kosovo, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kuwait, Qatar and Kazakhstan. He also met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Nasser Kamel.

Together with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Grlic Radman attended a meeting with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria. They discussed ways of strengthening cooperation with this organisation which Croatia aspires to join.
