Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman has said that statements by the Bosniak member of Bosnia and Herzegovina's presidency that Croatia pursues a policy aimed at accomplishing goals set "during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina" is proof that Bosnia is a non-functional country.

“It is being forgotten that Croatia is the most sincere advocate of Bosnia on its European journey,” Grlic Radman said in his address to the press on Monday after Sefik Dzaferovic accused Zagreb of pursuing a unilateral policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dzaferovic also told the Sarajevo-based Oslobodjenje daily on Sunday that the European Union has scrapped that policy which he branded as an attempt to accomplish goals set during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dzaferovic also accused Zagreb of having a “hidden agenda” that had not been implemented during the aggression, and added that the European Union institutions “have seen through” such policy on Croatia’s part and “have not bought it.”

The Croatian minister said that he was sorry to see such statements.

“Croatia wants Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a functional, European state that abides by the rule of law and guarantees the rights of the three constitutional peoples: the Croats, the Bosniaks, and the Serbs,” said Grlic Radman.

He also added that the decision of the European Council not to launch accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania was not a good message to other EU aspirants in the region.
