Science and Education Minister Blazenka Divjak on Thursday travelled to Brussels to present the Programme of Croatia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the field of education, the ministry said in a press release.
According to the press release, Croatia has placed priorities on the following topics: ‘Teachers for the Future’, ‘Mobility and Brain Circulation’ and a strategic framework for cooperation in education and training until 2030.
In the field of education, Croatia intends to emphasise the importance of the social dimension and inclusion of education and training, and the adjustment of skills to labour market trends and the development of society in the first half of 2020 when Zagreb chairs the EU Council.
Considering the fact that education is assuming a more and more important role in the implementation of reforms within the European Semester, the Croatian presidency plans to hold a ministerial discussion and the adoption of a resolution on educational reforms in that Semester, reads the press release.
