Last year Croatia exported €1,000 worth of Christmas trees and imported €215,000, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) said on Sunday, citing data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Compared with the year before, exports of fresh-cut Christmas trees tripled from €306 (60 trees) in 2017 to €1,000 (250 trees) in 2018, while imports increased by 5.3 percent.
In 2018, Croatia imported about 18,500 Christmas trees worth a total of €215,000, while in 2017 it imported slightly over 16,100 trees worth €203,000. Coverage of imports by exports was 0.46 percent.
All the exports went to Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the imports mostly came from Denmark (€212,000) and to a lesser extent from the Netherlands (€3,100).
