North Macedonia’s government announced on Friday it will deny entry to foreign nationals from countries which the World Health Organisation (WHO) listed as high-risk, the Serbian Beta news agency reported on Friday.
Nationals from the countries on the list, which was published on the North Macedonia’s Health Ministry website, will be allowed entry only after they have provided a certificate on the time they have spent in quarantine issued by the health authorities of the country in question, the government said in a press release.
So far, nine people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in North Macedonia.
The government has also introduced other restrictive measures aimed at curbing the spread od the infection. All theatres, cinemas, and sports objects are closed until March 24, and all public gatherings in the country have been banned. All restaurants, clubs, and bars will be open from 7 am to 6 pm only.
Also, all except urgent surgeries and medical procedures have been postponed until further notice.
