Health Minister Vili Beros said on Saturday the government was preparing a broad set of measures and decisions to raise the healthcare system to a higher level and prepare it for a possible stage three of coronavirus contagion, which would mean that local transmission had been proved.

He was speaking to the press after the national civil protection authority met with the premier and ministers.

“We talked about a package of sectoral measures the government is considering in response to the latest developments within the health segment,” Beros said.

At the moment, Croatia’s healthcare system is at stage two out of five stages of response to the spread of coronavirus. Beros said stage three would mean that local transmission had been proved.

“We talked about the decisions that need to be made and have already been written to make it possible to raise the healthcare system to a higher level, to mobilise human and other resources as necessary, to be ready to fully respond to stage three.”
