Bosnia's health authorities reported 17 new cases of Covid-19 and three more virus-related fatalities over the past 24 hours. The Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity reported 16 while the Bosniak-Croat shared Federation (FBiH) entity reported only 1 new case.
The RS entity health authorities said they tested 338 new samples form coronavirus, of which 16 came back positive – 10 men and 6 women.
So far, 1,145 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in this entity, of which 77 have died, The entity’s Health Ministry said, adding that they tested 18,674 people in total.
The Federation entity reported only one positive case after testing 706 samples for the new coronavirus.
So far, the FBiH has had 994 positive tests form Covid-19, of which 691 recovered. The entity recorded 36 fatalities related to the coronavirus, the entity Ministry’s Crisis Staff said, Tuesday.
When it comes to the fatalities, four persons have died over the past 24 hours, three in the RS Clinical Centre in the city of Banja Luka and one in FBiH’s city of Mostar. All the deceased from the RS were elderly patients who suffered from multiple chronic diseases, while the patient from Mostar was 52.
According to the official state tally by the Civil Affairs Ministry, the number of confirmed cases in the entire country now stands at 2,158, of which 1,168 have recovered and 117 had died.
The Ministry added that 43,451 suspected samples have been tested so far in the country.
