Sixteen patients and four nurses in the Sv. Ivan Psychiatric Hospital in Zagreb have been infected with the coronavirus, the head of the Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute of Public Health, Zvonimir Sostar, confirmed on Wednesday.

The infected persons all tested positive today, Sostar said, adding that not a single doctor at the said hospital tested positive.

All the infected are paliative care patients, Sostar told the press.

Another 20 people have gone into self-isolation and have been tested for the coronavirus in Zagreb’s Sisters of Charity Hospital in Zagreb, after one of the doctors from the oncology ward tested positive for Covid-19, hospital chief of staff Mario Zovak told Hina.

The infected doctor is a resident and she does not know where she has contracted the virus.

Most of those in self-isolation are nurses, there are also several doctors and one patient.
