In the last 24 hours, Slovenia performed 382 tests for COVID-19 of which 15 have returned positive, the Slovenian government stated on Sunday.

In the previous six days, there were about 30 new cases per day.

Currently, 17 coronavirus patients are receiving hospital treatment, including four in intensive care wards.

Broken down by age, out of 236 active cases, more than a half, that is 129, are persons under the age of 35 years. Those in the age cohort above 55 account for 50 active cases.

Considering the fact that an increasing number of newly diagnosed patients are young people, many of whom are returning holidaymakers from Croatia, Slovenia is mulling the introduction of obligatory self-isolation for those aged between 15 and 35 upon their arrival from Croatia.
