Travellers arriving in Great Britain from Croatia will be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine, Britain's Transport Minister said on Thursday.

“Data shows we need to remove Croatia, Austria and Trinidad & Tobago from our list of #coronavirus Travel Corridors to keep infection rates DOWN,” UK Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, said on Twitter.

“If you arrive in the UK after 0400 Saturday from these destinations, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, Germany issued a warning against travel to Sibenik-Knin and Split-Dalmatia Counties because of an increase in the number of new cases of the coronavirus infection.

Travellers returning to Germany from those areas are required to get tested for Covid-19 and self-isolate while they are waiting for their test result.

Such a decision had earlier been adopted by Austria, but for the entire Croatia, and it is expected that on Thursday Slovenia could also put Croatia on the red list of epidemiologically unsafe destinations.
