Slovenia reports 43 new coronavirus cases

Forty-three new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Slovenia in the past 24 hours after 1,212 tests performed, the same number as the previous day when 1,708 persons had been tested, the government said on Twitter on Sunday.

Currently, 23 people are being treated in hospitals for COVID-19 and three of them are in intensive care. One patient was discharged from the hospital on Saturday to recover at home.

Since the start of the outbreak in the country in early March, 3,122 cases have been confirmed and 135 infected people have died. Most of the new infections – nine – were confirmed in people aged 35-44, eight were identified in the age group 45-54 and seven each in the age groups 25-34 and 55-64.
