Industrial turnover rises m-o-m, plunges y-o-y

In July 2020, Croatia's industrial turnover increased 0.7% on the month but plunged 10.9% on the year, according to the national statistical office.

July 2020 was the third month in a row that industrial turnover increased month on month. In June, the increase was 15.5%, which was as expected following stronger decreases in the preceding lockdown months.

In July 2020, the turnover in durable consumer goods went up 12.8% on the month, followed by capital goods (+4.3%), intermediate goods (+1.5%) and non-durable consumer goods (+1%). The energy turnover dropped 2.2%.

Month on month, the July 2020 industrial turnover increased by 2.2% on the domestic and by 2.1% on the non-domestic market.

On the year, it decreased by 7.5% on the domestic and by 15.6% on the non-domestic market.

In June 2020, the yearly industrial turnover decrease was 3.5%, in May it was 16.2%, in April 23.6% and in March 6.6%.

In July 2020, the energy turnover plunged 41.1% year on year, followed by capital goods (-21.1%), non-durable consumer goods (-4.8%) and intermediate goods (-3.6%). The turnover in durable consumer goods increased 9.8%.

In the first seven months of 2020, industrial turnover dropped 8.2% on the year, with sales falling by 5.6% on the domestic and by 11.7% on the non-domestic market. The energy turnover dropped by 17.6%, followed by durable consumer goods (-17.4%), non-durable consumer goods (-9.4%), capital goods (-8.2%) and intermediate goods (-5.7%).
