The Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets has extended until June 30 next year the deadline for applying for aid for the reconstruction of buildings damaged in the earthquake that hit Zagreb and its environs.

The Ministry on Monday published a revised call for applications for aid for the temporary and necessary protection and repair of buildings damaged in the earthquake that hit the area of the City of Zagreb and its environs in March.

The revision extended the deadline for applications until the date when the first programme of measures for the reconstruction of buildings damaged in the earthquake in the City of Zagreb, Krapina-Zagorje County and Zagreb County enters into force.

The Ministry published the call on June 2, and aid worth HRK 100 million was provided by a government decision from May, the press release recalled.

Every independent unit in a building is eligible for aid of up to HRK 12,000.

The Ministry said that it had received 1,323 applications by October 23. 428 decisions have been issued, mostly for apartment buildings and residential and commercial buildings. The Ministry has also issued 552 conclusions requesting additional documentation.

Aid worth HRK 73.9 million has been requested through applications.
