The authorities in the southern Serbian city of Nis declared an emergency situation because of the huge pressure on the Clinical Center, Mayor Dragan Sotirovski said on Thursday.
Government Crisis Staff member epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic said that the situation in the city is not good and added that a new assessment would be made on December 1.
Local officials said that kindergartens were not being closed because the situation in them is under control with just three teachers infected and that there are seen patients in the COVID field hospital in the Cair sports hall. Two elementary schools were ordered to transfer older grades to online classes along with one of the city’s high schools.
