North Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said on Friday his country would decriminalise and legalised the use of marijuana in the tourist resorts as a part of new economic measures.
In an interview with Deutsche Welle in Macedonian, Zaev said the move “could substantially help tourism and catering,” and added the plan included a control same as in Amsterdam.
“The idea is to make it available in the existing and new cafes in tourist places and Skopje, with the respect of ventilation standards and the proof of the origin of marijuana,” he added.
Zaev said the plan would be publicly debated and if the general opinion were positive, a law on the issue would be prepared.
