Croatian skier Filip Zubcic takes 3rd place in Santa Caterina giant slalom

Swiss skier Marco Odermatt won the third World Cup giant slalom in Santa Caterina, while Croatian skier Filip Zubcic took the excellent third place after coming in 21st in the first run.

On Saturday, Zubcic won FIS Alpine Men’s Giant Slalom in Santa Caterina in Italy.

Zubcic has taken the podium five times during his career. He has clinched two victories, two second places and one third place.

He scored his first victory in Japan’s Naeba last season. He came in second in January this year in Adelboden, and two months later in Hinterstoder.

Today, the best Croatian skier finished the first leg 21st, but he took third place after being the best in the second leg.

Swiss skier Odermatt, who was the fastest in the first leg, scored the victory, US skier Tommy Ford took the second place, 0.73 behind, while Zubcic was 0.75 behind.

“Over the past three days, we have come from 272 to 262, and today we have 258 patients in hospitals,” Vugrin said.
