Coronavirus: Bosnia registers 856 new cases, 1,250 recoveries and 36 deaths

Healthcare authorities reported on Thursday that 856 people tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,250 recovered and 36 passed away due to COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours.

In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 546 of the 2,638 samples tested since Wednesday were positive and 21 people died due to the disease.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), the results for 286 of the 899 people tested were positive, while 14 COVID-19 patients died.

RS health authorities also reported two more COVID-19 deaths that took place in the past several days but were not reported so far.

Bosnia’s Brcko District also registered 33 new coronavirus cases and one more COVID-19 fatality.

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, more than 104,000 people have tested positive for the virus in Bosnia since the beginning of the pandemic and more than 70,000 have recovered so far.

Bosnia’s COVID-19 death toll is more than 3,500.
