Croatian lawmakers on Wednesday welcomed the new bill on adult education whereby the adult training should be upgraded and made more flexible.
The new legislation will introduce vouchers for training and upskilling programmes.
During today’s debate on the matter, parliamentary deputies asked about criteria for allocating vouchers. They also pushed for introducing guarantees for the quality of institutions providing adult education and training. Currently, an estimated 600 institutions of that kind offer 11,000 different upskilling and reskilling programmes in Croatia.
A government representative who sponsored the bill said that the vouchers would be personalised, and the amount would be capped to 10,000 kuna (€1,333), and the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) will have a platform for applications.
Lawmakers agree that the new law would upgrade the domestic labour market and promote lifelong learning.
