A summit meeting of top officials of Nato countries will be held in Brussels on 14 June, the alliance's secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg, said on Thursday.
“I am pleased to announce that the next Summit of Allied leaders will take place on 14 June 2021 at Nato headquarters in Brussels, Belgium,” Stoltenberg was quoted as saying in a press release.
“We will take decisions on our substantive and forward-looking Nato 2030 agenda to deal with the challenges of today and tomorrow: Russia’s aggressive actions, the threat of terrorism, cyber attacks, emerging and disruptive technologies, the security impact of climate change, and the rise of China,” he added.
This will be the first summit meeting with the new US President Joe Biden in attendance.
The previous summit meeting of the alliance took place in London in 2019.
