According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 published on Thursday, the University of Split is the top-ranked university in Croatia. Globally, it was placed in the top 1,000-1,200 universities on the planet, state agency Hina reported on Monday, citing a press release sent by the University of Split.
This year’s ranking analyzed more than 100 million citations across over 14 million research publications and included survey responses from 22,000 scholars globally.
“This year the University of Split achieved a higher score in four of the five performance areas – teaching, research, industry income, and international outlook, while the citations area received the highest score,” Hina said, citing the unsigned press release. Hina did not specify what this year’s score was higher from.
The University of Split was also successful on the National Taiwan University’s Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities.
The ranking is based on research productivity, research impact and research excellence, which rest solely on the quality and impact of research publications indexed in the Web of Scienceand the Essential Science Indicators Clarivate database.
Neither Hina nor the University of Split mentioned if any other Croatian universities have made this year’s list.
