The European University Sports Association (EUSA) has presented the University of Zagreb with two awards for achievement in European university sports, the University said on Monday.

The University of Zagreb was handed the Best University Award and the Most Active University Award.

The University of Zagreb won 19 medals in 12 disciplines in championships held in 2019, winning the most medals among more than 550 European universities.

The award ceremony was held online on 11 February 2021 and Zagreb University Chancellor Damir Boras accepted the awards.

The head of the University Office for Sports, Davor Pavlović, congratulated athletes because this is the second time after 2016 that the University of Zagreb has been proclaimed the Best University in EUSA championships.
