Seasonally adjusted figures for January 2018 industrial production in the EU28 showed it shrank by 0.7 percent month-on-month, while still posting 3 percent growth year-on-year, according to data released by Eurostat on Thursday (March 15).
In Croatia, January industrial production shrank 1.7 percent month-on-month, down from 1.6 percent growth in December. In year-on-year terms, January industrial production fell 0.4 percent compared to January 2017, which points to a slowing down of a negative trend, as the drop in December was 2.4 percent year-on-yea, Poslovni dnevnik reported.
Among EU member states, the biggest January year-on-year industrial production growth was in Romania at 8.5 percent, followed by Estonia at 7.7 percent and Sweden, at 7.1 percent. On the other hand, the biggest year-on-year fall was recorded in the Netherlands, at 6.6 percent, followed by Malta at 1.7 percent and Greece at 1.6 percent.
