Croatia Airlines posts 7 pct passenger increase in Q1 2018

In the first three months of this year the national flag carrier Croatia Airlines transported nearly 330,000 passengers, or 7 percent up from the same period in 2017.

This year the company has expanded European destination network, adding Dublin among other cities.

“In the summer timetable starting late March, we have introduced three new routes and increased the number of weekly flights on the existing ones. We are especially proud of having introduced regular Zagreb-Dublin flights for the first time in the company’s history. They are scheduled twice weekly from May 3 to October 28,” Krešimir Mlinar, Network and Revenue Management director said.

Mlinar added that in the last three years, ten new destinations have been introduced.

In the scheduled traffic, travellers will fly directly to 40 destinations in 24 European countries, which is expected to continue positive trends, surpassing last-year’s record high of 2.1 million passengers.

Due to the opening of the new passenger terminal, the company has recorded 307,000 minutes of delays, a 29 percent increase compared to last year. However, the on-time departures were at 80 percent, which is considered a good result within European and global standards.
