Croatia's Jan-Feb 2018 commodity exports drop to €3.7 bln

Croatia's commodity exports in the first two months of 2018 amounted to 15.53 billion kuna (€3.7 billion), or 1.6 percent down from the same period the year before, according to data released by the state statistics bureau on Monday.

In the same period, total imports grew to 26.18 billion kuna, or up by 9.7 percent year-on-year. The foreign trade balance in the first two months of 2018 was 10.64 billion kuna, or 2.55 billion kuna up from the same period last year.

Commodity exports to EU countries in January and February were worth 10.81 billion kuna, or 5.4 percent up year-on-year, while imports from the EU amounted to 21.04 billion kuna, or 10.2 percent up from the same period in 2017.

As for non-EU countries, Croatia’s exports were worth 4.72 billion kuna, or 14.6 percent down from 2017, while imports rose by 7.5 percent to 5.13 billion kuna.
