Croatia remained Bosnia and Herzegovina's main trade partner over the first three months of 2018, closely followed by Serbia, according to data released by the country's Foreign Trade Chamber on Monday.

The value of Croatia’s exports to Bosnia in Q1 2018 totalled €343 million, while Bosnia’s exports to Croatia were at €172 million in the same period.

Serbia’s exports to Bosnia amounted to €305 million. Germany was in third place, with €223 million of exports to Bosnia, followed by Slovenia and Italy.

Croatia’s main exports to Bosnia were oil and oil-based products, coal, electricity, beer and chocolate, while its main imports from Bosnia involved electricity, raw aluminium, and timber.

Bosnia’s entire foreign trade in Q1 2018 amounted to €3.73 billion, with the export-import ratio at around 64 percent.

Countries of the European Union are Bosnia’s main trade partners, accounting for some 70 percent of its foreign trade, followed by countries of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), which includes Serbia. Although Turkey and Russia are at the bottom of the list of Bosnia’s trade partners, the volume of Bosnia’s trade with them, and with China, continues to increase every year, Hina news agency reported on Monday.
