Instagram users in Croatia increased fivefold since 2015

The globally popular photo and video-sharing social networking service Instagram has around 970,000 users in Croatia, more than a fivefold increase from 190,000 three years ago, according to recently published digital marketing research.

Instagram is currently the world’s most popular application used to edit photos and video, allowing users to share their content with friends. Launched in 2010, it was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for $1 billion. Today it has an estimated 800 million active users.

By country, the network had 120 million users in the United States in April 2018, followed by Brazil (61 million), India (59 million), and Indonesia (56 million), according to data from the statistics website Statista.com.

“The number of Instagram users in Croatia is growing tremendously fast. There were more than 190,000 users in 2015, which grew to more than 390,000 in January 2017. Last May, the number of Instagram users increased to 730,000, and this May, according to our survey, there were 970,000 Instagram users active in Croatia,” CEO of Arbona digital marketing company, Sandro Lazaric, said..

The largest group of Instagram fans are women, who are the majority of website’s users across all age groups, and make up 53 percent of all users in Croatia..

Out of 970,000 Instagram users in Croatia, around 520,000 are women, and the largest age group is between 18-24, with 340,000 unique users. The 25-34 age group has 300,000 users and the 35-44 group only 160,000.

By city, Split ranked first with 71,000 users of the app, followed by Zagreb with 67,000.
