During his official visit to the United States, Defence Minister Damir Krsticevic on Monday held a lecture about Croatia's national security strategy at the Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
This was the first time the country’s homeland security system was presented in the United States, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
The lecture, which was the first event of his official visit to the United States, was attended by, among others, Rider University’s President, Gregory Dell’Omo, and Dean, Boris Vilic, with whom Krsticevic held a meeting, as well as Rider University professors and students and members of the US Army.
Dell’Omo and Vilic congratulated Krsticevic on his induction to the U.S. Army War College (USAWC) International Fellows Hall of Fame, which will formally take place on Tuesday at the USAWC headquarters at Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania. The college is regarded as one of the most prestigious military education institutions in the United States, and its graduates include a number of famous U.S. commanders and officials such as Dwight D. Eisenhower, George S. Patton, and Omar Bradley.
Krsticevic had graduated from the USAWC in 1998. So far 11 Croatian officers have graduated from the institution, with Krsticevic being the first Croatian officer inducted into its International Fellows Hall of Fame.
